Breakups Can Open You To God
We will encounter many deaths in our lifetime. Physical deaths, a career dying off and many other forms of death - including BREAKUPS. Delicately woven within these deaths is a divine dance with God.
I’ve moved through many breakups in my lifetime
Which brought me face to face with many parts of me
Parts I wished I could ghost and ignore
Parts that would turn me into a puddle of grief onto the floor
Suffocating in abandonment
Choking on all the feels
Congested by the stories in my head that I convince myself are real
Maybe you too have felt the raw emotional eruption after a breakup?
Immersed in abandonment
IT FEELS PERSONAL
But we all experience this
This is where we are typically reunited with the child version of us
The part of us wanting more love
More connection
And the experience of being fully seen
All while we lay on the floor remembering how to swim in our own pool of grief
This is where we are presented with 3 options
1: Find a way to numb
2: Cling to that which is dying.
3: Surrender and allow the great mystery of the rebirth to take place
I always chose #3
To surrender
In the surrender
Is a place where my body can have a different identity
In the surrender
I’m No longer waiting. to be chosen
In the surrender
Is a stillness
A quietness
Who wildly midwifes me to my edge
The edge of death and rebirth
Just like once a woman is in her last stage of labor.
No matter how much she may want to numb herself with an epidural
…it is too late.
In this moment
The only thing that will carry her is:
BREATH AND GOD
I will carry us says breath
I will carry us says the river
I will carry us says the Divine
I will carry us says the ancestors of the light
I will carry us says God
I will carry us says the inhale
And on your exhale
Is where you will
FEEL the hands of God.
Within those hands you hear the clearest words of wisdom that say “ place the part of you who feels abandoned on your lap - look into her yes…remove the shackles from your heart and allow her to be held in a river of a woman unafraid of her wholeness. “
Sway with her
Lay with her
Open her to the experience of the never changing Love of God
Heartbreak reveals our longing for God
Heartbreak uncovers our original abandonment …
The severance of our devotion to the divine
The severance of our relationship to God
This greatest destroyers of this world want us living unrooted and lacking of connection and devotion to love and God.
So we may be good consumers.
Desperate to find an imitation of the ecstasy of the divine anywhere we can
Looking for it in alcohol, self improvement, food, traveling, relationships, work, our looks, drugs, in the success of our children but when any of this crumbles (because it will at some point - everything has a cycle of death and rebirth) we return to our pool of abandonment on the floor.
Choose not to hand over your precious heart to be
masked
numbed
diluted
or suffocated by
alcohol - over consuming content- unintentionally dating - or any “go to vice” that can be used to avoid feeling
Instead…..Surrender to God
Via Breathing and dancing your prayers
Via poetry and ceremonies
Via singing and drumming and humming with your heart
Because this is where your organic connection to God is
When we encounter a breakup we are really grieving our lost of connection to God
People will die
People will leave us
But our connection to God will
Always be limitless
5 Ways to surrender to Gods love during a breakup
Meditate on the energy of Gods’ unconditional love and allow this energy to fill your heart
Once your heart is full of Gods’ love, sip it in through an O shaped mouth. As if you are sipping the most sweetest elixir through a straw-bringing that loving energy up from your heart through the crown of your head. On the exhale - allow that frequency. of Gods’ love pour over you like a waterfall that begins at the crown of your head.
Align your beliefs, actions and thoughts to match Gods
Worship God through your breath - dance/movement, drumming, singing, chanting, and prayer
Surrender your body to be a vessel of Gods love by amping up your devotion to co creating a deep & intimate relationship with God
